'that little wilding place of mine which I have worn with bypaths as I wandered there in dream' ~ Muriel Strode
Yesterday, while searching for a bit of inspiration, I stumbled across three little characters, an owl, an elephant and a llama! Three characters which where to be in a children's story book that a friend was writing and I was creating the drawings. How appropriate that the little llama had on a knitted hat, for its character, throughout this tale, had many colorful hats. The three of them touched my heart, sparked a new light in my soul, so I had to purchase them! Came home, placed them on my desk in my art studio and began to write a new story line for myself. The thought, that maybe I can continue with this adventure of children's books and drawings sparked my creativity! It might not be with these three characters, but opening up a new adventures with a different twist.
Its funny how little things, can bring bring on creativity!

As I sit a read stories to my grandson, I find myself imagining new story lines. Simple, whimsical, and with a lesson about life. A learning curve, to help children open up their own imagination. There is a world within each of us, filled with imagination, but in a child, the imagination is boundless. You can see it in their eyes, as their mind lights up with the characters on paper. Short stories filled with a bit of magic for them to end the day. A fun, evening bedtime story waiting to turn into a night time dream filled with wonder. Oh the fun places you can visit!

Finding that inspiration once again, looking to nature for a guide, a source of encouragement, for its what I love to surround myself with. Love the sounds of the early morning, Love the smells in the flower gardens, Love the feel under my bare feet in the grass..... its who I am. There is nothing more inspiring then being in nature.... a pen, a sketch book and Annie, my little golden lab!

So, taking a deep breathe, gathering up old drawings from years ago, cherishing that chapter in my life however its time to close that book and start with a new fresh outlook. Some whimsical cheer to share with smiles. Keeping that song in my heart, a smile to share and a new story to pass forward ~~ Diana
