Being Creative ~ Thinking outside the Box My story started years ago with my parents..... Both have always encouraged me to be creative, to create anything with love and pride. When my father past away, my heart was breaking, for my life had changed so much after that. Spent the next fifteen years caring for my dear Mutti. It was during the last five years, I had moved back into my old home, with my Mutti, to care for her daily. She had become legally blind and suffered from Dementia. I had promised my father, I would never place her in a home, so life took a turn, a magically one. <3 She has since past away, but when looking back, I truly have had the most wonderful creative memories. Her love for crafting still shines through me, and together we would create little snowmen! Each one is hand sewn with love, and had its own personality. During the sewing process, I always tried to include Mutti, for she had taught me the art of sewing. While I did all the handcrafting, knitting of hats, scarf, leg warmers, she shares stories from years ago. Its time together, sharing and crafting. When I reach the final stage, and the little snowman is done, she would take great pride in naming each one. The excitement was overwhelming for she truly loves getting involved in this process. During the other seasons of the year, drawing became my passion! Each night, after dinner, I would create a new drawing for my Mutti to enjoy, a new whimsical owl! Using a dark thick sharpie, I would begin a large drawing for her to see, and with each line she would be surprised to see it! This was actually my beginning of creating those 'Whimsical Owls' with a flair of magic! ;) Each day I give thanks to my parents for blessing me with these talents. My fathers talent in drawing, calligraphy, glass-etching. My Muttis talent of sewing, writing, and knitting. Since those days, my husband and I, now live in my old home, which used to be my parents, and at times I still feel their presence guiding my creativity to new levels. Still drawing, still sewing... still thinking outside the box. ❥• welcome to Whimsical Cheers
